Do you Remember?

Do you remember all those lovely evenings wrapped in silk and song?

When the world saw only one evening, curled up in sheets in sweet silence.

And I took your heart and held it in my honest hands, where it belongs.

As my heart raced in your grasp, the clock hands slowed.

The twinkling far off stars and galaxies had stopped their light-speed turns.

Forever could have passed me by and I would have remained unblinking, never to notice.

And even when the candlesticks are smoking in the breeze our love still burns

Some fires refuse to be put out.

This is a kind of experimental poem, written by me and my boyfriend alternating lines. I like how you can see my style and my boyfriend’s style very distinctly – I like my iambic octameter and he’s more of a slam poet if you ask me ^_^ Not sure if this works, but it’s nice to give it a go ^_^

About pasameerday

I haven't got a lot of time to keep you interested, so I'll be quick. I'm a writer from the UK, primarily of fantasy and sci-fi short stories, and occasionally of strange, nonsensical poetry. I like cats, the Sims, and pizza, and I go to sleep to the sound of a keyboard. I've been writing for my entire life; to be honest, I don't think I could ever bring myself to stop. I have a feeling I'm losing you, so I'll bring this to an end before you slowly start to back up, hoping I'll stop talking long enough for you to make a quick getaway. Wait... Where are you going? Hey! Wait! ... Stop!!
