Will You Marry Me Tonight?

Sometimes the stars sat on my palm

And danced until the sun came up

Only to fade in drunken guilt

Into a murky atmosphere

Of smoke, and dry tears spilt

And when the darkness cloaked my soul

All I could do is hang my head

And breathe the poison deeply in

Into the cesspool of my lungs

And soaking in my skin

Our stories intertwined in love

Despite my tattooed poison stains

With wisdom and with care you stay

Deep in the caverns of my heart

While I am walking on my way

Through worlds and places new

Sometimes the stars sit on my palm

And dance until the sun goes down

When there I lie in happiness

Giving to you ten times the love

That my heart could possess.

So if I can give you

All my love in one word

I will say ‘yes’

About pasameerday

I haven't got a lot of time to keep you interested, so I'll be quick. I'm a writer from the UK, primarily of fantasy and sci-fi short stories, and occasionally of strange, nonsensical poetry. I like cats, the Sims, and pizza, and I go to sleep to the sound of a keyboard. I've been writing for my entire life; to be honest, I don't think I could ever bring myself to stop. I have a feeling I'm losing you, so I'll bring this to an end before you slowly start to back up, hoping I'll stop talking long enough for you to make a quick getaway. Wait... Where are you going? Hey! Wait! ... Stop!!

  1. Very lovely.. This is a great poem and can be great addition to any of those that wanted to propose.
